Dear Rockcliffe Park Public School Community,
As we reflect on the past school year, Ms. Medhin, our new Vice-Principal, and I are incredibly proud of what we've accomplished together. It has been a truly remarkable year, filled with learning, strong community spirit, and a renewed focus on ensuring every Dragon feels seen, valued, and empowered.
This past year, we put an emphasis on representation within our school community. We believe that when our students see themselves reflected in the curriculum, in our staff, and in the broader school environment, it fosters a deeper sense of belonging and inspires greater achievement. Key initiatives such as the school-wide creation of the Dragon structure located outdoors in the middle of our traffic circle, as well as numerous School Council-sponsored assemblies and the Art in Bloom event, truly helped us grow in this area.
Rockcliffe Park Public School continues to be a bustling and dynamic place. Alongside our English and Early French Immersion programs, our students dove into a multitude of extracurricular activities, from our popular Dungeons and Dragons Club and Fibre Arts Club to the Newspaper Club, Grade 6 Leaders, and inclusive intramural sports. Our signature Book Fair was another resounding success, raising over $56,000 to directly benefit our students as well as many others in our district. This incredible community effort embodies the deep RPPS pride we strive to see every day.
We firmly believe that ensuring all Dragons have equitable access to authentic and innovative learning opportunities is paramount. We continue to prioritize social and emotional well-being, recognizing its direct connection to academic achievement - just ask your child about our Friday recess dance parties! As we look ahead, we are committed to building on the foundation we've established, fostering an environment where every child feels supported to reach their full potential.
The timeless slogan, "Be kind, be brave, be a Dragon," remains at the heart of everything we do. We are grateful for your continued partnership and look forward to another year of learning, growth, and community at Rockcliffe Park Public School.
Sincerely,
Brian Chiasson Principal
Helen Medhin Vice-Principal
